ASPEN SWITZER, (pronounced: as · pen)
BMTH | Counsellor. Educator. Public Speaker. Singer/Songwriter. Music Therapist. Mother.
Aspen is an experienced counsellor with a passion for the creative. As an educator, singer/songwriter, music therapist and mother, Aspen has been working to support individuals and families for over 20 years. Some of her counselling experience includes work with neurodivergent families at Deltas Assist, bereaved individuals and families through Lamara Grief Society, and women in addiction recovery at Charlford House.
As a neurodivergent woman who is deeply interested in the human experience, Aspen has spent her life studying and training in various methods and theories to learn how best to support herself, her clients, and now her own family. Meeting Elisa and training in her NEIT model has been the most profound step in her learning journey as it has provided the deep knowledge and understanding that She has been seeking to truly understand neurodivergence. Aspen brings her wealth of training in Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Polyvagal theory, and other trauma informed models and combines it with NEI Therapy to work in a way that truly meets the needs of her clients.
She believes while we often have true challenges that deserve support, we also have incredible gifts that deserve to be celebrated and nurtured. In Aspen’s own words, “Your child and family are unique and we’ve also got a lot of similarities that our society does not yet fully understand. Together we are building a community of people who understand the nuances of what families like ours need to thrive. I am committed to providing compassionate support without judgement. I have practical techniques that can help your family thrive. I’ve walked this path, and walked this path with clients, and we can do this together”
